Amaranth Books was established in 2011 to publish print and digital material that will explore the growing interest in and concern for older people’s issues. Our publications will take the form of information and guidance, polemical works and personal stories and will be aimed primarily at the general reader, although we hope professionals will also find them useful.

This new publishing house takes its name from the amaranth – a genus of herbs with a peculiarly long flowering season. The Greek word amarantos means “unfading” and “anthos” means “flower”.

…may Love, we pray,
Like amaranthine flowers, feel no decay.
